The role of oil analysis in a reliability program is significantly enhanced with the availability of on-site oil analysis instrumentation and software, which provides lab quality results in a fraction of the time required for analysis at an off- site lab. On-site analysis allows fine tuning a program to the specific plant assets in addition to providing immediate, actionable results.  The contribution to uptime and machine availability of a successful Predictive Maintenance/Prescriptive Maintenance  program  that includes oil analysis is well known.  What may be less appreciated, however, is the significant positive impact on total maintenance cost by eliminating unnecessary maintenance work orders while maintaining current reliability metrics.

This webinar will detail the elements of a successful on-site oil analysis program where we will explore a new approach to oil analysis for predictive maintenance that provides timely results,  automated diagnosis and recommendations for maintenance actions, with an adaptive structure that allows users to fine tune the limits and tailor actions for their specific equipment.

Daniel P. Walsh is the Director of Technical Sales Support and Product Line Management at Spectro Scientific, Inc. Daniel has over 20 years of experience with oil and wear debris analysis, industrial lubrication and problem solving. Mr. Walsh held General Management positions in BTS biodieseltesting.com,  a division of Bently Nevada, and was a  co-owner of National Tribology Services, an oil and fuel laboratory services firm.  He began his career as a Metallurgical Test Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Hartford CT USA.  He has authored many articles and technical papers and presented at many leading industry conferences, including Lubmat, EPRI, Noria, STLE , Pittcon and Reliability World.  He is a member of ASTM and actively supports development of  standards for condition monitoring.   He is a STLE Certified Lubrication Specialist and is Vice Chair of the STLE Condition Monitoring Committee. He has a BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Limerick and he holds an MSc in Engineering Management from Tufts University.
